Last saturday our digging crew all met up at the ABCC leadville bottle show. After looking at all the neat bottles, we were pumped to probe out a good privy. Before we got to the site, Hoss sent his probe to the hilt hitting glass on the way down at a spot Mike hit last week, lets get digging. Mike and Tom waiting to hual up a buckit of drit, our tripod makes digging a deep hole easy.![]()
Mike looking at something interesting, come on Mike what is it?![]()
A coffin flask, but wouldn't you know it unembossed.![]()
Maybe this bottle will be a good one![]()
Nope a no talk en punkin seed whiskey!!!!!!!![]()
this privy was a big wood
liner about eight feet long, four feet wide and about eight feet deep We dug lot of bottles there were a few good ones that came out of this pile. Here was the ones I wanted.Schmidt soda ca 1880, I Hougland soda ca 1878,and two very rare slug plate Isaac Hougland Leadville colo sodas, These are as good as digging a Confederate button. The last bottle in the picture, is a nice CC Conrad Original Budweiser ca 1879. Some of the other bottles dug were a half dozen real early leadville drug store bottles, and a Iron bitters. I thought this has neat a pair of little girls leather shoes, with the Button hooks, still intact. This was a fun dig for us hope everyone else injoyed the dig.
A good Saturday
