Welcome to AmericanRelicHunters.com There are many resources online for metal detecting enthusiasts to choose from, and we want to say "Thank You" for choosing us. We have put together what we feel is a comprehensive set of message forums and research sources that we hope will add to your enjoyment of the greatest hobby we know. In the interest of maintaining a friendly site there are a few rules that we must ask our visitors to respect. Above all just treat others here as you would want to be treated. Thank you for taking the time to read over the rules.

1. All posts made to the forums must include a valid e-mail address. From time to time people may wish to contact one another privately and if you don't provide a valid e-mail address then this correspondence isn't possible. We check the forums on a daily basis and will ask anyone without a valid e-mail address to please provide one. If you are concerned about receiving spam then you might consider getting a free e-mail address at Hotmail or one of the other free mail servers. Repeated posts without valid e-mail address will have to be removed from the forums. We do not collect e-mail addresses from our forums for any reason.

2. We have censors in place to keep the language on the forums clean. As you can imagine there are countless words that one person or another may deem offensive, and we will strive to keep such language off the boards. Repeated attempts to circumvent the censors will not be tolerated and such posts will be removed without warning.

3. Personal attacks will not be tolerated on the forums. If you take offense at a post and feel you have to respond then please do it via e-mail. The Real World Forum provided here will allow detector debate to a degree but it must be conducted in a civilized manner, and with the obvious intent of being a positive addition to the discussions. Flaming any particular machine, manufacturer, or individual will not be tolerated and such posts will be removed immediately.
4. Please refrain from posting Buy/Sell/Trade items on any forum but the Classifieds.

We ask that the classifieds forum be a place for individuals to buy/sell/trade relics and used *outdoor equipment (*used metal detectors are NOT to be advertised on the American Relic Hunters forums)

5. The file upload feature provided on the forums is for the convenience of our visitors and the uploads folder is monitored. Do not use the file upload for hosting images to be distributed to other parties, for storing personal files or photos, or for images that will be posted elsewhere. The images stored on our server will be culled from time to time to conserve space so if you upload an image you wish to keep please retain a copy for yourself. Images uploaded to our server are subject to monitoring and removal at the discretion of the administration and we will cooperate fully with the appropriate officials if illegal content is transferred to our servers.

6. Sock Puppet accounts/profiles will not be allowed. A sock puppet is an account made on an internet message board by a person who already has an account/profile - for the purpose of posting anonymously. Use your own account/profile for posting personal opinions. Posts from known sock puppet accounts or profiles will be deleted and both the puppet and actual account may be banned from using the services of ARH.
